Matatia is the premium Dalton's blend made only in exceptional years. The wine is named after Mat Haruni, the visionary behind Dalton Winery. The grapes are sourced from the most outstanding and established vineyards in the Upper Galilee and the wine is aged for two years in small French barrels, it is then further classified so that only the very best quality makes it into the final blend. Matatia is a wine of substance that shows off the best qualities of Dalton and its vineyards and will age gracefully over the years. A new wine cellar built by Dalton. Bordeaux Blend consists of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and 15% and 5% Cabernet Franc. Developed in French oak, deep, dark color. Aromas of mint in the first attack, tar, with a hint of iodine, a remarkable and surprisingly pleasant. Fragrance generous red fruit, cassis with hints of bitter orange peel. Final long espresso. Perfect balance between wood, acidity, tannins and fruit. A reflection and delicious wine. Produced in limited edition of 6,000 bottles. If I had to find a single word to describe this wine would be the word "delicious". Consume preferably in the best period 2011-2016. Score 93.
